Thanks to all who have written me with your good wishes about my new job at WTOP. Just to remind anybody who doesn't know that "Core Values" can be heard every Monday through Friday at 3:40pm and 6:10pm on WTOP (103.5 FM). Also, after the 6:10pm play, WTOP posts "Core Values" on its website (see link above).
True story: Last week my wife was asked by three different people if she was married to Chris Core of "Core Values." She said, "Well, yes, now, and WMAL for many years of course. All three people seemed confused and said, "I only listen to WTOP!" So, despite my many years on the air, there are many people who never heard of me until the beginning of May. I guess a million listeners on WTOP helps. And, of course, coming on right after traffic and weather on the 8's doesn't hurt either. Many thanks to those of you who listen now--both loyal longtime listeners who've followed me, and those who have just discovered "Core Values."
I have had many of you ask about why I stopped the blog. Honestly, it's because I have to make WTOP my top priority right now and work with their sales department to help bring in new sponsors. And part of how radio stations create new revenue is through their websites, so I would like as many of you as possible to listen to and comment about "Core Values" through the "Comments" link you will see on the WTOP site. Several of you have asked when I will be on XM radio again. The answer is whenever they ask me. I am their fill-in person, so I only work there when a full-time host takes a vacation. I will let you know through this site.
